We got to spend almost an entire 8 hours with Nick on Thursday after the extremely long brief in the freezing cold Yeckel Hall (I just need to plug that in because it was frigid).

We went to go have lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings (a favorite place for many candidates)...

Everytime Nick would hold Mattis, he would put his head down on his shoulder and wrap his chubby little arms around him.
He's only 11 months old, but he remembered his daddy and missed him.
He doesn't do this with anyone else!
Next, we headed the the National Museum of the Marine Corps.

ADD IT TO YOUR LIFETIME BUCKET LIST!!!
It is an absolutely amazing museum.
If you have no affiliation with the Marine Corps, you may not appreciate AS MUCH, but if you're ever in Virginia, I highly suggest you go check it out!

The beginning of the museum starts with an exhibit called the "Making of Marines".
It's an exhibit on Marine Corps recruit training, and where it all begins.

Inside the base of Quantico, there is a little town called "Q-Town" (Quantico Town).
The town existed before the base did, and it's the only town in the Marine Corps where Marines can wear their cammies out and about.
(If you're not familiar with the Marine Corps, we don't wear our "working uniform....aka...cammies" outside of work. We consider it unprofessional).
We went a little store there called the "Marine Shop", and spent the last hour of Nick's family day there.
At the end of the day, we dropped Nick off at Skinner Hall (his squadbay) and said our goodbyes.
It sucked we had to leave him, but knowing that graduation was the next day, and that we'd have him all to ourselves after that was worth it!
We had an amazing few hours together, and It was probably the best day I've had since he left!
You'll hear about graduation tomorrow!!!!
Sounds like a great day! I'm dying to get up to the museum ... especially since its only about 4-5 hours from us. Especially since Matthew is trying to groom the kids to be the next generation of Marines, I'd love them to see it!
