I love Jesus.
I am a Marine wife to a man who somehow puts up with me—honestly, I don’t deserve him. I’m a mother to two beautiful kids that still take my breath away. I’m a Marine Corps veteran who served our incredible country for 10 honorable years. I’m a Fightin’ Texas Aggie (Class of 2017), proud of my roots. I’m a survivor of childhood sexual assault, and a proud overcomer of an eating disorder. I’ve fallen from grace more times than I care to admit, but I keep getting up.
I am the world’s "okayest" mom and Marine wife—and I’m perfectly content with that. I like to pretend I’m more domestic than I am, but let's be real: I’d rather pay someone to clean than do it myself. I channel my inner Joanna Gaines with a lot of good intentions, but let’s just say Pinterest and I are not always friends. I tend to share my life more through Instagram Stories (@semper.ag) than I do through blogging, but when I do sit down to write, I spill my heart about our life as a military family. From the challenges we face, the good things we experience, and everything in between, I aim to bring some realness to the table. Sometimes it’s light and funny, sometimes it’s serious, and sometimes it’s deep, meaningful, or even vulnerable.
I hope my little space here serves as a reminder to other military families that we're all in this together. Our lives are messy, beautiful, hard, and joyful, but above all—we are not alone.

Hi
ReplyDeleteWe may, or may not, be distantly related, but I enjoyed reading about your family. All the best for your future outside the marines.

What a cool story! I'm a MilSpouse too, but I'm not near as experienced as you! You are Wonder Woman, haha.
ReplyDeleteHi! I am one of those who stumbled upon your blog. Nice to meet you! I was also serving, in the USCG. I decided to get out after 8 1/2 years to follow my husband and his dreams.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to getting to know you, one veteran to another. ;-)
Hey! So glad I discovered your blog! My hubby and I are both active duty Army and I'm also 39 weeks pregnant! It's so rare to read blogs about females serving in the military and/or dual military couples! Can't wait to read more!!
