Nick's 26th Birthday!

One of our favorite restaurants to eat at in Orange County is Tak-A-O Sushi in San Clemente, so naturally that is where Nick wanted to go for his 26th birthday. We met up with one of Nick's best friend Sully and his girlfriend Sahir for dinner, sake, and a glass of merlot for me :) I also decided to bake a cake for Nick. I'm no cake boss, but Betty Crocker helped me out a lot. I made a chocolate cream cheese cake with reese's peanut butter cups sprinkled over it. I used low fat mayonnaise instead of vegetable oil in the recipe and it turned out DELICIOUS!!!! Everyone needs to try it. No birthday is complete without candles. Unfortunately, we are getting too old to actually count out candles now, so I opted for the cheesy number candles. My stupid self put the "2" backwards on the cake, but either way, Nick loved it!
Dannika's first trip to sushi

Dannika's birthday outfit for daddy's birthday celebration. Don't you just love the mary jane socks?

Daddy and Dannika at the house waiting on mommy to get ready.

The cake with the backwards 26...my bad.

Notice the backwards 2

Dannika's First Trip to the BEACH!

Nick wanted to take Dannika and introduce her to the ocean today, so we drove the Capo Beach. We are so blessed to live 5 minutes away from the ocean. The water was soooo clear today and the weather was perfect. We made the mistake of taking her right before it was time for her to feed so she was cranky and hungry. She was so cute though cause her eyes aren't adjusted to the bright outdoors yet. She kept trying to open her eyes and look around, but kept squinting. At least I got a few pictures. I can't wait till she is old enough to take her in the water and play in the sand.

One Month Old Already!

I can't believe our baby girl is already a month old. Time is flying by so fast. She is getting HUGE! I am NOT looking forward to going back to work in two weeks.

I LOOOOOOVE this outfit. I just HAD to get it when I was at Babies R' Us the other day!

Like Father Like Daughter. Even their mouths are open the same. No one can ever mistake this girl to be Nick's kid. I caught them napping and thought it was just hilarious. They didn't even know I took the picture!

We spent our Sunday afternoon at the San Clemente Street Festival and visited the Marine Corps' recruiting booth. Dannika enjoyed the loud live music and the hustle and bustle of the crowd!

Grandma Todd got her this zip up sweater thingy. It is a LIFESAVER when putting her to sleep. I think she likes the security and warmth of it. so cute.

She's a heartbreaker

This is her poopy face.

She has personalized pacifiers cause she is a "baller"

I think all that working out and running I did while pregnant has made Dannika one strong baby. She is already starting to crawl!

Nick is FINALLY done with the drill field. As much as I am glad that I will not have to deal with long lonely nights and hectic crazy schedules, I am now going to have to prepare for life as a "fleet wife". He's already going to be gone most of October to go the field, and his unit is set to deploy to go to Afghanistan for 7 months in February. It breaks my heart that he's going to miss Dannika's first birthday. On the other hand, his schedule when he's NOT deployed or in the field, will be a little more normal than the drill field AAANNNDD.....he won't have to commute an hour to an hour and a half to go to work everyday.

I knew what I was getting into when I married another Marine. I don't regret it at all. I will ALWAYS support my husband and the Marine Corps 110%. I may complain about it in the process, but I will always always always stand behind my husband in everything he does. If it weren't for men and women who serve, we wouldn't be living our wonderful lives....
