"I Love Unpacking..."

Said no one ever...(except a certain military wife who told me she actually enjoys it...weirdo!)
Our house is slowly starting to feel more "homey".
The process has taken a lot longer than I had anticipated due to the amount of painting that we needed to do.
It doesn't help that I am deathly ill...I'm seriously not exaggerating this either!
I feel like a 7-ton is sitting on my face (I know you appreciate the military jargon), and I am getting the most killer ab work out from all this coughing I've been doing (my abs seriously hurt when I laugh).
I think the stress of painting our old house in California, moving, going to Texas, coming to Boston, climate changes, and everything in between finally caught up to me.
My body is screaming at me to just rest.
It's been so weird sending Nick off to work every morning, and I'm staying home.
I'm not used to it.
I've been a working career mom for the last 3 1/2 years, and for the last 10 years, I have not had a chance to even slow down and take a break!
I honestly don't know what to do with all this time I have during the day.
I had all these aspirations and visions of doing fun crafty things all day with Dannika and spending copious amounts of time with her, but it's been far from that.
With being sick and having so much to do around the house, my poor toddler has been stuck in front of the TV most of the day....go ahead....judge me!
I feel bad for her, but I barely have the strength or energy to make sure she is fed!
*No worries though. Before you decide to call CPS on me, my daughter has been fed healthy and nutritious meals* :-D
I can say that I have thoroughly enjoyed having dinner on the stove every night before my hubs gets home.
Even in the unhealthy state that I am in right now, I honestly just love seeing my husband's hungry face when he gets home from a long day at work.
It's probably not a big deal to most people, but to me, it is a huge sense of duty as a wife to feed my man a real home cooked meal every night.
Call me old-fashioned.
I call myself a loving wife who has an awesome husband that works hard so that I don't HAVE to work.

Other than that, New England life is something I am still adjusting to, and I am sure it will not happen overnight.
I'm lonely most days because I don't know anyone, and since I'm not totally familiar with the area yet, I don't feel comfortable venturing out yet.
I'm sure things will change once I start feeling better.
My skin and my body are going through weather shock, and it has actually snowed already.
Our family is struggling to find a church to call home, and it's just another added stress.
I was hoping that we would get plugged in right away so that I could start making friends, but it hasn't happened.
Please pray for us that we find a church soon!

This is the rock sitting outside of Nick's office.

Dozer's first day home. D was so excited.

Our neighborhood! God has truly blessed us an amazing home in an area that we would normally never be able to afford!!

Gettin' ready to go outside and play!

Christmas lights

I have managed to do a few fun crafty things with Dannika....like this felt Christmas tree!

Snow!

Painting.

Playing with the falling snow flurries!

My hubby is the best.

Fresh and New

I don't even know where to start.
I can't believe that it's already been a month since my last day of work.
It still hasn't really sunk in that I am a jobless, coffee drinking, grocery shopping, dinner making, dishes washing, 'sammich' making, play date planning, pinterest obsessing, stay-at-home mom.

CRAZY!

I think once that my life settles in (ie: house unpacked, pictures hung, walls painted), it will start to feel a little more real.
The house is gorgeous, but far from liveable yet.
There is a TON of unpacking and painting to do still, so it doesn't really feel like "home" yet.
I am happy and blessed to FINALLY be living together with my better half.
New England is definitely a HUGE HUGE HUGE change of pace for me.
The Fall time weather here feels like the coldest winter months in Cali, and D and I are a little less than prepared for the upcoming Winter.
Lucky us, because it means that we have "necessary" shopping to do.
The leaves here are shades of red and orange that I have only seen in paintings and pictures.
They are absolutely beautiful.
The people here drive like crazy, complete with hand gestures, screaming, and unnecessary honking.
I think I'll avoid driving as much as possible.

The last two weeks, D and I were in Houston to hang out with my folks and the rest of the "Kim" family.
The trip felt different than most trips home because my parents don't live in College Station anymore (where I grew up), and Houston is a far cry from what I consider "home".
They sold our gorgeous home that my sister and I grew up in, moved to the big city, moved into a townhouse in the heart of Houston's Galleria area, and have officially become "city people".
I guess the two weeks was really to entertain my parents' "grandparent" duties to their first grandchild by spoiling the ever living dog poop out of her, and leaving me with the negative remnants of the damage they caused to my perfectly well behaved 3 year old (*sigh*).

I decided not to lug my huge DSLR with me, so all of the photos I took are from my amazing iPhone5.
(Did you really think I could go without mentioning my 'iPhone5'?

THERES A MILLLLION GAZILLION PICTURES...just warning you :-)

I told you that my parents had "grandparent" duties to fulfill. They did an excellent job.

Me and my grandma

So lucky me, D got strep throat the second day we were in Houston, so we spent the first few days lounging around until she got better.

At the ER. D is never sick (like ever), so it was a little new to me a mother to have such a crabby yet cuddly sick child to care for. When I look at her face in this picture, she has the angelic face of the newborn I gave birth to 3 years ago.

This was considered "expensive" gas in Texas. I woulda given an arm left pinky finger tip to pay for gas this cheap in Cali.

Now that we live in New England, I can now see the obsession with Dunkin Donuts. Seriously though, Dunkin has NOTHING on Shipley's Do-nuts. They have the most amazing, soft, gooey, chewy glazed donuts, and the most mouth watering sausage and cheese kolaches EVER!

A trip to the Lone Star State is never complete without some Blue Bell Ice Cream. I really think that Jesus makes it, because it is THAT DELISH.

My mom bought D and I some matching winter coats for Beantown

Complete with boots (with the fur).....you know you're singing the song now...apple bottom jeans...boots with the fur....

My daddy, D, and I after eating dinner at Lambo's in Houston. Excuse the Texans gear....

We took D to the Houston's Children's museum. It was AMAZING!

She also spent quality time with Gigi doing dishes

She loves her Papa.

Houston Zoo

Excuse the Longhorns hat (my sister is a Longhorn...boo)

Excuse D's Bama shirt. This is the day they lost to the Aggies!!!!

My parents took us to their church. It was a different experience. This was my facebook post the day I went: " Well. My parents church felt like I was at a traditional southern baptist church ... Complete with people shouting 'amen' and 'hallelujah' through the entire service. Not what I am used to. Good experience, but I am a true believer you gotta find a church that makes you comfortable. Slightly awkward... Oh well... praise Jesus! We all worship differently!"

The little asian sunday school...lol. They all kept asking me if Dannika was "white".

I've also got a new obsession called "picstitch". Download the app!

My daddy and I

This is my Aunt Sharon (or Goya as I call her). LOVE HER!

She is saying "yee haw"

She asked papa for a princess crown...and he actually got her a real princess crown!

Sittin' at my daddy's office desk and doing some work!

Silly girl. Wearin' Gigi's boots

REUNITED....(go ahead...you know you're singing it) and it feels so goood.

First homecooked meal in our new house.

People were serious when they said that Fall time is gorgeous here. These leaves are amazing! Here are some pics I snapped of D in our backyard today!

There you have it!
If any of you are in the Boston area, hit me up!
