Fall Is In The Air!

It's been a busy weekend for the Romers!
I threw a baby shower for my friend Kim on Saturday!
Her husband, Sunny is a sniper with 2/4 and has been deployed to Afghanistan since August.
Their THIRD son is due in December, and I wanted to make sure that Kim had a proper baby shower.
Since Sunny's gone, I decided to do a Marine Corps themed shower in honor of him.
It was so much fun, and I met so many awesome women!
I hope I did you justice, Sunny!
Here are a few pics!

yes...I made these cupcakes...It was Cupcake Wars in my house!!!

Baby Logan. He has his father's lips!

A true Sniper's son needs a green squad leader's book! Everyone wrote a little message to Logan in it!

Sunny posing with my very first diaper cake! Thanks for stopping by!

Ammo cans, action figures, and diapers....perfect combo!

Dannika hanging out with Sunny

PJ, the Beal family, and Kim's parents all pitched in to get Kim a double BOB stroller. Thanks to Sunny for putting it together!

The mama and her huge belly! She is GLOWING!

Kim, Ali, Kim's mama, and Kim's sister, Molly.

Some of my favorite people. Friends of mine that I introduced Kim to!

Cousins!

Two preggo mamas! Kim's in her THIRD trimester and Kari is in her FIRST! Look at their bellies~!

The wives of 2/4! All of their husbands are in Afghanistan right now protecting US!

What would I do without my BFF?!

Today we took Dannika to the pumpkin patch!
We usually go all to way up to Irvine, but we decided to be "lazy" this year and go to the petting zoo right by our house to get pumpkins.
They do a mini pumpkin patch every year in conjunction with their petting zoo, and to be honest, it was way more fun!
Dannika had a BLAST!
We brought our pumpkins home and carved them...a Romer family tradition :-)

She was not a fan of the "Ze-donks"

My pumpkin is the "Hello Kitty" one and Nick's is the "Iwo Jima" one'

Dannika's pumpkin is the one on top :-)

Cowgirl Boots and Korean Spaghetti

I realized this week that Dannika has absolutely NO Fall clothes.
With the mornings being cooler, I felt like a horrible mom dropping her off at daycare in a sundress and sandals when it's 60 degrees (granted, by noon it's been 100 last week).
We went shopping today for a Fall wardrobe, and might I say, Nick is a WAY worse shopper than me!
We spent way more than we had  anticipated because Nick insisted that she needed certain clothing items.....like these...
Pink cowboys boots that cost too much that she will outgrow by next month.
But she looks mighty cute in them!

We did some grocery shopping today and found one of my favorite childhood meals at the commissary...
"Korean spaghetti"
My mom makes it the best, but I made it tonight for dinner.
It was Dannika's first time having it, and she LOVED it...

I'll just add, after dinner, I took her out back and hosed her down...

Seriously...

It was MESSY!

Old Friends/New Friends

My friend Sarah was there the night I came home from my first date with Nick.
I came in, and she told me I was "glowing".
That was almost FOUR years ago, and she's been one of my closest friends ever since!
She had a sweet baby boy LAST December, and that was the last time I have seen her!!!
She came out today from Ontario (California) and spent the day with Nick, Dannika, and I in the "OC".
I couldn't believe how handsome her son Kai was.

Dannika LOVED Kai.
He's her new BFF.

The most awesome thing about close friends is that even when you're apart for a long time, you can pick up from where you left off and feel like you never missed a beat.

Trying to pose children for a photograph is a daunting task...obviously...Kai was NOT interested.

"Come back, Kai!!!! We still have to take our picture!!!"

Going Through a Funk

Hey y'all...

First off...
The Romer family is doing well!
We're preparing for Fall and the holiday season!!!

Unfortunately, I'm going through a TON of stuff personally...
(I'm sure you can tell by my facebook posts).
So if I seem out of it or not warming and welcoming...
I apologize in advance!!!

I'm working on me right now, and trying to get back to a calm and happier place!

Thanks to all my friends for the support and encouragment!
Y'all ROCK!

Is It Fall Yet?!

YES IT IS!!!!!
CAUSE IT'S FOOTBALL SEASON!
We stayed home all day Saturday watching college football!
Can you tell by the video who Dannika roots for??
Too cute!

It was really nice to just have some family time this weekend...even if it meant sitting in our jammies all day watching college football!

This is her crying over the Aggies' loss yesterday
(ok...so she was just crying cause she didn't want to take a picture...ehh...)

One of our favorite things to do (before the Dannika was born) was going riding.
Nick and I used to hop on the bike and cruise PCH all the way down to Laguna Beach and back.
Since having the baby, it has been difficult to find time to do that.
I actually kind of forgot about our Sunday bike rides.
Thanks to our lovely neighbors, Nick and I got to do just that today.
We just cruised the 5 and ended up in Talega at the Panera Bread for lunch and came home.
It was a perfect "Mommy/Daddy" Sunday afternoon.
