Every girl loves Tiffany's...

My birthday is March 25th. I'm turning 26 this year. This is the FIRST birthday that I have not looked forward to in my entire life. Two reasons...1) Nick won't be here to celebrate it with me and 2) I am getting freaking OLD! My friend Megan stated that at 30 women become "cougar status". I'm 4 years away from being considered a "cougar". Where has the time gone? I feel like it was yesterday when I was turning 16 and my dad had bought me a shiny red Mustang for my birthday. It feels like it was yesterday when I was leaving the recruiting station at the mall in my hometown of College Station, TX to go to Marine boot camp. It was one of the first times in my life I had really seen my father cry. I'm turning freaking 26!!!!! I have decided that for the next 15 years, I will celebrate being 25. Then when I turn 40, I will celebrate turning 30...good plan, don't you think? ANYWAYS...as you can tell by the title of this post...I love Tiffany's. In fact, the week Nick left, I was so sad that I did some retail therapy and went to Tiffany's and bought myself a necklace. A few weeks ago, I was checking Nick and I's bank account and noticed a transaction made to Tiffany's. I knew right then that Nick had done some shopping for ME! I tried to pry it out of him, and he refused to tell me...all he told me was that it was a birthday gift for me. I came home from work today and saw a package sitting on my front porch. I knew instantly it was from my honey. I opened it IMMEDIATELY and to my surprise found not one, but TWO little blue boxes tied with white ribbon. Diamond earrings and Tiffany's sunglasses! So much for spending all that money this weekend on my Marc Jacobs sunglasses! It's not that Nick got me Tiffany's that made me feel loved, but it's the fact that all the way from Afghanistan...he thought of me....and knew how much I loved a certain brand of jewelery...and the fact that he somehow found a way to get on a computer to order it for me. Ladies...be jealous...and he's taken...and all mine...

And of course...the latest and greatest of Dannika...this is her new favorite toy...

Candid Camera

I was fixing dinner tonight, and heard Dannika just laughing away by herself in her bouncer in the living room. I snuck in the room, and put my camera on my desk and just filmed her playing by herself. It's pretty entertaining. I have no idea what was so hilarious. She was looking at her fingers and it looked like she was trying to count her little fingers. Moments like these make me smile :-)

What does a tooth, Marc Jacobs, and Gymboree have in common?

Dannika is getting her first tooth! It's funny cause I thought teething was going to be absolutely horrible. Since she hadn't really shown any signs of typical teething babies, I didn't really think she was getting teeth yet. Yesterday, I put my finger in her mouth, and when she bit down on it, I felt a rough spot on her gums...it was the surface of a tooth! I guess I'm one of the lucky few that doesn't have to deal with typical teething issues (sorry to my moms out there who deal with horrific teething ordeals!). When Nick was here, we were still giving Dannika baths in the sink. She started outgrowing it, so I've been putting her in the tub. Nick never got to see that. SHE LOVES THE WATER! She splashes around and just has a BALL. She likes playing with her toys too. This weekend, I decided that Dannika needed new clothes. I was going through her drawer, and realized that she had outgrown most of it! We took a trip to the mall and ended up spending WAY TOO MUCH money. I got Dannika a whole new wardrobe from Gymboree and two new GIANT bows from the cutest boutique. I also splurged myself and got a few new outfits, and some Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses...TOTALLY HOT! I decided to splurge on a nice pair of sunglasses cause I haven't gotten any in a while. I also splurged on some nice clothes from Nordstrom's. I haven't really splurged on clothes since Dannika was born because I wanted to wait till I lost all my baby weight, but I decided that I am comfortable enough with my body right now to buy nice clothes! Speaking of WEIGHT...I invested in the 250 dollar bodybugg! It's a device you wear on your arm on an armband, and it tracks all the calories you burn throughout the day. You plug it into the computer, go on the website, and it tells you how many calories you've burned, then you plug in what you eat, and it tells you the ratio of calories burned to the calorie intake. I am determined to look HOT when Nick gets back :-) I'm excited that it's already March and it's another month closer to being a family again with Nick!

The new bows I bought Dannika today!!
