Marine Corps Fun

Kevin's finally home from Afghanistan!
I'm so glad that I got to join his family for his homecoming.
It was full of emotion, happy tears, and joy!

WELCOME HOME 1/5!

This is the Gilbert clan minus Dore...he was still in Afghanistan when Kevin got back!
SO EMOTIONAL
Anticipation...

Lastly, the 5/11 Tango Battery ball was last week.
This may be the last Marine Corps Ball that the "original" Tango Battery ladies might get to spend a ball together.
This year it was held at the Pechanga Casino and Resort.
We had an absolute blast celebrating the Marine Corps' 236th Birthday with our closest friends.
A special thank you to my friend Kim for doing my amazing Hollywood make up!

Nick and I have never been into the way they pose us for pictures at the ball...it always looks so "prom-ish". We like to change it up a bit.
The D's!
 The R's!

Lindsay and Brittany's husbands are both deployed to Afghanistan but it wouldn't have been a party without them! Lucky for Shon and Steve, they got to tag along :-)

The ladies

Our handsome guys

The Kim Kardashian...minus the whole 72 days of marriage thing...

I've never met Steve until the night of the ball! Nice to meet you!

We salute our Officers....

Trick-or-Treat and Halloween Sweets

This is the first year that I was really excited about trick-or-treating with Dannika.
I feel like she is finally at an age where she kinda "gets it".
We went over to my friend Kim's house to trick-or-treat with Kanoa, Madison, and the Cartiers!
It was so much fun!
By the second/third house we went to, Dannika had it down to a "T".
She was thrilled that all she had to say was "Trick or treat", and people gave her CANDY!
She would say, "Trick-or-treat! Thank you!", and walk away to the next house.
Kim also made us the most amazing homemade chili and squash soup...O-M-G...AMAZING!
All in all, I'd say it was a pretty successful Halloween!

She was kinda grumpy at first....

Elvis and the Hamburger...not just ANY hamburger...Nick calls her a Carl's Jr. $6 Steakhouse Burger

Now she's having fun!

Checkin' out her goods.

The cutest garden knome in the world!~

Fall Is In The Air!

It's been a busy weekend for the Romers!
I threw a baby shower for my friend Kim on Saturday!
Her husband, Sunny is a sniper with 2/4 and has been deployed to Afghanistan since August.
Their THIRD son is due in December, and I wanted to make sure that Kim had a proper baby shower.
Since Sunny's gone, I decided to do a Marine Corps themed shower in honor of him.
It was so much fun, and I met so many awesome women!
I hope I did you justice, Sunny!
Here are a few pics!

yes...I made these cupcakes...It was Cupcake Wars in my house!!!

Baby Logan. He has his father's lips!

A true Sniper's son needs a green squad leader's book! Everyone wrote a little message to Logan in it!

Sunny posing with my very first diaper cake! Thanks for stopping by!

Ammo cans, action figures, and diapers....perfect combo!

Dannika hanging out with Sunny

PJ, the Beal family, and Kim's parents all pitched in to get Kim a double BOB stroller. Thanks to Sunny for putting it together!

The mama and her huge belly! She is GLOWING!

Kim, Ali, Kim's mama, and Kim's sister, Molly.

Some of my favorite people. Friends of mine that I introduced Kim to!

Cousins!

Two preggo mamas! Kim's in her THIRD trimester and Kari is in her FIRST! Look at their bellies~!

The wives of 2/4! All of their husbands are in Afghanistan right now protecting US!

What would I do without my BFF?!

Today we took Dannika to the pumpkin patch!
We usually go all to way up to Irvine, but we decided to be "lazy" this year and go to the petting zoo right by our house to get pumpkins.
They do a mini pumpkin patch every year in conjunction with their petting zoo, and to be honest, it was way more fun!
Dannika had a BLAST!
We brought our pumpkins home and carved them...a Romer family tradition :-)

She was not a fan of the "Ze-donks"

My pumpkin is the "Hello Kitty" one and Nick's is the "Iwo Jima" one'

Dannika's pumpkin is the one on top :-)
